Medford Strikers Xplosion Finalist at the Score Showcase in Greensboro, NC
The Medford Strikers Xplosion (rising U-17 girls) were finalists at the Score Showcase in Greensboro (formerly Score at the Shore Tournament). This prestigious tournament was very grueling as the girls ended up playing 7 games in 4 days in 98 degree heat! The girls lost the championship game 1-0 to CASL Spartan Elite (NC State Cup Champions and nationally-ranked) in the final 6 minutes of the game. Coach Dino got the girls playing better with each successive game.
U16 Starz win JAGS Tournament Congratulations to the U16 Starz on winning JAGS for the second straight year. Last June they did it in sudden death OT. This year they went to the 6th round of the PK shootout against
Lehigh
Valley . The Starz tied the game, 1-1 in the second half then went through two OTs. In the shootout they were down, 4-3 on the last kick, but equalized. The Starz keeper made a great save on LZV’s 6th shot, and the Starz scored on their 6th shot to walk away with the championship again.

Greg Ogden takes over the helm of the U-17G Medford Strikers Starz .
MEDFORD - Greg Ogden, who guided the Rutgers University-Camden (RUC) men's soccer team to back-to-back 15-win seasons, including a berth in the 2005 New Jersey Athletic Conference championship game, has accepted the position as head coach of the current U-17G Medford Strikers Starz. Ogden took over the RUC men's soccer program in 2000 and led the Raptors to a 68-39-14 record during his tenure, including a 15-2-4 record in 2004 which set a program record for wins and earned him honors as the NJAC Coach of the Year. He followed that stellar season with a 15-5-1 mark in 2005, tying the program's win mark, finishing second in the NJAC regular-season standings and advancing to the NJAC championship game, where the Raptors lost 1-0 at top-seeded The College of New Jersey Nov. 5. It was the first NJAC title game for any men's team in Rutgers-Camden history. Coach Ogden also enjoyed successful stints as head coach of Mainland and Cinnaminson High Schools, and the RUC women’s team prior to his tenure with the men’s team at RUC. Ogden holds a USSF “B” License and the NSCAA Advanced National License.
The Ogden name is not an unfamiliar one to the Medford Strikers organization. Ogden is the brother of Medford Strikers alum, Cory Ogden, who went on to play for two national championship teams at The College of New Jersey and who was also recently inducted into the South Jersey Soccer Hall of Fame. Greg’s father, Bruce, currently coaches the U-16B Strikers team and previously coached a Medford Strikers team from ages U-9 to U-18, who went on to win the U-19B NJ State Championship as the Willingboro Strikers in 2004, defeating the highly regarded Matchfit Crew in the title game.

Carli Lloyd to assist Medford Strikers Soccer Club
Carli with Jim Burns, Technical Director James Galanis, Club President Paul White and Wayne Partenheimer
The Medford Striker Soccer Club announces the specialized acquisition of local USA Women’s National Team Superstar Carli Lloyd to its staff. Carli, who played her youth soccer for the Medford Strikers, will assist the club in the development of all players and coaches. Carli met with Technical Director James Galanis and Club President
Paul White on Thursday evening at 7:30 at the Ark Rd Soccer Complex where they officially welcomed her to the club.
“I’m excited to give back to the club and community, and I want to help all local players. There are a lot of kids that want to play at my level, but they don’t know the secrets to success. I am currently playing at this level because I was taught these secrets, and now I want to share them with all local players,” said Carli.
Carli will be conducting seminars for all Medford Striker players and act as a mentor to them. “This is a big step for me. I am laying down the foundations for when I have finished playing. I plan to become a full time coach when I’m done and helping out with Medford Strikers is a great opportunity for me. The players they currently have are serious and want to play at the highest level. That suits what I want to do. With the staff currently assembled at Medford Strikers I feel that we will take the club to another level,” said Carli.
Carli was home for a week where she launched her website www.carlilloyd.com as well as announced her first summer camp for 2008. Carli looks certain to retain her spot on the 18 woman squad that will compete at this year’s Olympics in China. Thus far Carli has started all games in 2008, as she plays an anchor role in the United States midfield.
